Welcome from the School Home Association (SHA)

The Breakthrough Montessori School Home Association (SHA) would like to welcome new and returning families to a new and exciting school year! As Breakthrough’s version of a Parent Teacher Association, the SHA is a group of parents, guardians, and staff committed to family and community engagement at the school. Every year, the SHA plans events to build connections between home and school, including the Fall Festival, Scholastic Book Fair, and Field Day. We also plan fundraisers, support room parents and classrooms, and give input on other school decisions.

The SHA posts announcements, meeting agendas, and other updates on Konstella, a platform designed to support parent teacher organizations like the SHA. Konstella is also a great way to connect with other parents in your child’s classroom and Breakthrough. You can register by visiting https://www.konstella.com/cd/RF3iwg. Returning families already in Konstella are also encouraged to update their classroom information.

The School Home Association (SHA) is a volunteer group devoted to supporting the Breakthrough pillar of family and community engagement. Composed of parents and/or guardians of current students as well as Breakthrough staff, the SHA undertakes projects designed to promote robust, reciprocal connections between home and school. Feedback from the SHA informs decisions related to family and community engagement, fundraising, and other areas of the School’s life. The SHA also supports the School’s ongoing efforts to provide families with opportunities to learn more about Montessori education and how the Montessori philosophy informs the School’s decisions.

The School-Home Association (SHA)  is a vital partner in helping Breakthrough achieve its mission of providing free, high-quality Montessori education to all families. Your donation to the SHA is an investment in

  • books, materials, and activities for our classrooms that enrich the  educational experiences of our children

  • professional development opportunities that allow our faculty and staff to grow

  • gifts that show our guides and staff how much they are valued

  • our families, by making before and after care programs more affordable to families in need

Join us in this exciting work. Donate today. You can make your gift through PayPal (@breakthroughsha) or by cash at the Breakthrough front office.
